Westley Engineering hosts successful ConeX Portal manufacturing event

Westley Engineering welcomed members of the ConeX Portalmanufacturing community to its Birmingham facility for a successful day ofnetworking, knowledge sharing and discussions about the future of UKmanufacturing.

Around 24 manufacturing professionals attended the event,which brought together businesses from across the engineering, aerospace,defence and wider industrial sectors.

The morning provided an opportunity for members to make newconnections and discuss some of the most important challenges facing UKmanufacturers, including skills shortages, supply-chain resilience,reindustrialisation and the growing opportunities within the aerospace anddefence markets.

Westley Engineering Managing Director Christopher Greenoughand Sales Director David Lewis also presented the company’s approach to valueengineering. The presentation demonstrated how early supplier involvement,effective tool design and manufacturing expertise can help customers reducecosts, improve productivity and achieve more reliable production outcomes.

Guests were then taken on guided tours of WestleyEngineering and neighbouring Westley Richards, giving them an insight into theheritage, capabilities and engineering expertise found across the twoBirmingham businesses.

The visitors were able to see Westley Engineering’sextensive capabilities, which include press-tool design and manufacture,precision metal pressings, CNC machining, wire and spark erosion, assembly andautomated inspection.

“The event created some fantastic conversations, newconnections and genuinely thought-provoking discussions about the future of UKmanufacturing.
